Balance Pilates & Yoga -- Pilates is a series of resistance and flexibility exercises specifically designed to strengthen muscles as they are stretched and to balance the muscle actions of the body. Pilates builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body and excellent posture. The Pilates Powerhouse, or the abdominal muscles, with support from underneath by the muscles of the pelvis, initiates each and every movement during a typical Pilates training session. Consequently, the abdominal muscles quickly become toned and flattened. Connected to a strong core, the limbs then have a greater freedom to achieve strength and range of motion. Exercises are done utilizing specially designed, spring-based equipment, as well as the raised mat platform, that provide a very low impact, highly efficient muscle strength and flexibility workout.
